Kathy Burks is a graduate of the Academy of Canine Design in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She has been actively involved in animal care and related activities for many years, showing horses and dogs beginning at the age of nine. Her continued education and involvement in an animal care profession has been a natural progression. She continues to show Shihtzus, Briards, and American Paint horses. Kathy places an emphasis on not becoming complacent, and feels education is an important part of being a pet groomer, allowing her to find new ways to give pets an excellent grooming experience. To accomplish this, she continues to attend seminars to further her education and maintain modern grooming techniques, and attends all breed shows.
Burks has managerial experience with a pet superstore franchise, and understands the complexities of the manufacturer to retail to consumer pathway, which enables her to watch for quality products that can benefit customers of Minster Veterinary Service. She also has experience grooming top show dogs for breeders and handlers, bringing the type of quality grooming to the area that dog and cat owners are seeking. Most recently, she owned and operated a grooming shop and kennel in the Dayton area, which thrived for over a decade.
Now a resident of Ft. Loramie, working at Minster Veterinary Service in Minster places this grooming service in a good location for clients from Shelby, Darke, Auglaize and Mercer counties. Kathy is currently accepting new clients. All breeds of canines and felines are welcome. To set up an appointment please call Minster Veterinary Service at 419-628-3532.
