(1888PressRelease) October 11, 2008 - Southern Vermont’s Mount Snow Valley region is hosting a swanky formal Black and White Masquerade Charity Dinner and Auction on Saturday October 25th. The event is the grand finale of a summer long public arts project: The Vermonsters of the Deerfield Valley.

The Vermonster creations are twenty three uniquely Vermont themed pieces created by Vermont artists using new, found or recycled Vermont material. They range from the Jesse Morgan’s whimsical Deerfield Treebeard, a fanciful tree person; Jodie Roth Cooper’s eerie Leafman, a seven foot tall man like creature constructed entirely of welded metal leaves, Lucy McNulty’s Ver Morganster, a hand carved rocking horse secured on two antique wagon wheels, and Dale Doucette’s Vanishing Vermonster, a life size hand carved and painted replica of the Vermont farmer of yester year – complete with a Spread Fred ball cap as well as creative interpretations of Vermont icons like Sieglinda Joyce’s Monster Maple, a five foot copper plated maple leaf that turns the wind.

All twenty three creations will be auctioned off to the highest bidders with proceeds assisting five local charity efforts this winter including Deerfield Valley Community Cares heating fund, West River Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish of Vermont, The guy Hawkins Cancer Fund and the Deerfield Valley Rotary.

Black and white attired revelers are invited to a tented complimentary champagne and cash bar cocktail hour situated at the base of Mount Snow at the Grand Summit Resort and Conference Center, beginning at 6 pm followed by a scintillating plated dinner featuring Vermont specialty foods. The live auction will take place immediately following dinner. The event is black tie optional and attendees are invited to arrive “en masque”. Masks will also be available at check in.

Tickets for the evening are $90 per person, and tables of ten may be pre purchased and reserved. This charity event has limited seating, and advance ticket purchase is encouraged. Tickets can be purchased online at www.vermonsters.org or by calling the Mount Snow Valley Chamber of Commerce in Wilmington, VT at 1-802-464-8092.

The Mount Snow Valley, home to Southern Vermont's premier ski resort Mount Snow, is a convenient day trip for visitors from New York, Connecticut and the Boston and Providence metro areas.
