Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease)
November 12, 2009 - Today, VeoMed announced that its CEO and Co-Founder Aaron Krinsky has been invited to speak at the public hearing held by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) titled “Promotion of FDA-Regulated Medical Products Using the Internet and Social Media Tools” on November 12 and 13 in Washington, D.C.
The hearing will provide a forum for consumers, healthcare professionals, medical marketers, and the regulated industry to have an open discussion with the FDA about the promotion of drugs and medical devices using the internet and social media tools. The FDA intends to use the input that it receives at this hearing to help guide its policy making decisions on this controversial topic.
Mr. Krinsky will be sharing his thoughts on a number of issues surrounding adverse event reporting and the online promotion of FDA-regulated medical products. “We are moving from a framework where companies market and sell their services as an act of monological promotion to one where companies and consumers enter into a two-way dialogical relationship … a culture of attraction and dialogue,” explains Krinsky. “It is our belief that open dialogue will ultimately improve patient care.”
In the spirit of the event, VeoMed will be tweeting live from the hearing (follow ( @ ) VeoMed on Twitter) dot
