May 17, 2007 - Daryle Scott, CEO of Venus, the Jacksonville-based multi-channel marketer of women’s clothing and swimwear, has made a $6000 donation to assist the Jacksonville chapter of the Humane Society in its efforts to rebuild after a raging fire, whose cause is unknown, destroyed its Beach Boulevard animal shelter.
On April 7, 2007, a fire gutted the facilities; dozens of dogs and cats perished in the inferno. However, firefighters were still able to save the lives of hundreds of animals.
Scott stated, “The Humane Society is a remarkable organization and we are proud to support them in this difficult time. It is my hope that they get back to doing their commendable work as soon as possible. As an avid animal lover, this loss truly resonated for me.”
Venus prides itself on its philanthropic donations which over the years have exceeded $400,000. Recipients have included: the American Diabetes Association, The American Red Cross, The Autism Society, Malivai Washington Kids Foundation and The Fraternal Order of Police.
The Humane Society is accepting donations at: www.jaxhumane.org.
