January 17, 2007 - Venali, Inc., a leading provider of innovative fax and messaging solutions to Fortune 1000 companies, announced today that John Poncy has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer by the Board of Directors.
Poncy previously served as Chief Executive Officer for Special Operations Consulting (SOC), where he tripled the company’s size in his first year.
He spent nine years as an Infantry officer and Airborne Ranger in the United States Army and since then has had a long and successful background in the technology and security industries. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and has held senior executive positions at such companies as Nortel, EDS, Unisys and Avaya.
Mr. Poncy is replacing CEO Mark Toschek, who served as acting CEO until a permanent candidate could be found. Mark will continue to sit on Venali’s Board of Directors and remain visible in the company until the full transition takes place.
