The website gives step by step instructions on how to buy a business, with or without a business broker, including hiring professionals such as lawyers, accountants, and business brokers, determining an offering price, finding prospective sellers, evaluating the non-financial aspects of the businesses, structuring a deal, financing a deal, and negotiating the deal. The site also covers tax and legal issues.
In addition to providing guidance on selling a business the site provides interactive tools and downloadable spreadsheets to value a business that you may want to acquire, to determine how large an investment you can afford to make in a business, and to find a business broker to represent you.
While the site is now live, it will continue to be enhanced and expanded. A book, based on the site is also planned. Future planned additions include a section on special issues involved in purchasing franchises and additional tools to assist in financing business acquisitions.
The website was written by experienced business brokers who have over 25 years combined experience as intermediaries. This site is the third in a series of websites being developed to provide information and service related to mergers and acquisitions.
