August 14, 2009 - VABION LLC (VABION) announced today that its chief executive and chief scientist, Dr. Susan Hardwicke, will be modeling as a breast cancer survivor in Cure by Design 2009 on Friday, August 14th at The Westin Richmond, located at Reynolds Crossing in Richmond, VA. This event brings together the fashion, design, and retail communities in order to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The highlight of the event will be a fashion show that not only displays designer fashions but, more importantly, features the cancer survivors who model them. The show will feature Richmond, VA designer Michael Taylor, owner of Michael Taylor Couture in Carytown, and New York designer Alex Garfield. Both designers feature products that, as Garfield describes “celebrate the woman in the clothing, not just the clothes."
After the fashion show, a cocktail reception featuring a silent auction will take place to raise money for cancer research. All proceeds from Cure by Design go to the American Cancer Society
