July 24, 2008 - Lynn Voss, Co-host of Get Real, The Real Estate Investing Show for the Rest of Us. Is a short sale expert, sort of. Mrs. Voss’ business focuses on working with homeowners in financial distress. When owners are close to losing their homes in foreclosure it is often difficult for them to get out without destroying their credit. A short sale agreement with a bank can often times be the only cure.
Real estate investors have trouble negotiating these deals with the financial institutions on behalf of the homeowner because it is time, labor and knowledge intensive work. For many investors they just avoid this opportunity in the market. Mrs. Voss spent 4 days last week at a 4 day intensive workshop learning how to sharpen her skills and also how to partner with a service that provides the negotiating aspects of the business for the real estate investor.
During this week’s episode of Get Real Lynn describes what the class entailed and even had two interviews with investors currently utilizing the service. By taking advantage of a service that does the back end work these investors are able to focus on the acquisition of properties and increase their productivity. One interviewee performs 2-3 short sales per month and the other, about 1 every six weeks providing a nice sized stable real estate investing business.
