December 19, 2007 - For over a year, SpivO Search (http://www.spivo.com) has been planning a huge renovation to remove unused channels and add new ones. With all the applications developed, a new larger, faster, server environment, SpivO will be completely new in 2008.
Currently, a news feed and partially working links are on SpivO.com. SpivO’s managing company, Adviatech Corp., opted to leave the search engine in an “under construction” look while doing the upgrade to give users the opportunity to try new channels as they come online. When all the new channels are online, SpivO’s home page is going to be redesigned to bring user features to the home page so that SpivO user’s won’t have to access each channel to view content.
Up until today when they launched SpivOVideo.com, SpivO has made no public claims about the extent of which they are changing except for a small statement on SpivO.com. The first new channel to get a public launch is SpivOVideo.com.
SpivOVideo.com is a user video tool with simple features to allow people to upload their user videos to Spivovideo.com which syndicates across the SpivO Network. SpivO says their content censorship policies are more liberal than YouTube but that they encourage users to upload fun videos that are generally acceptable for the majority audience.
Like many of SpivO’s new channels, Spivovideo.com will be displaying Google Ads. SpivO has an internal advertiser network that will be launched in 2008 but they say for now, Google Ads will allow them to maximize their available ad space.
The new slogan for SpivO is “Find Your Channel” which is based on their philosophy of building a site that will have a channel of interest for all users. Last year, SpivO had denied request from their users to launch a “YouTube” style channel but said that such a channel fits in the plan for the new SpivO network.
