July 16, 2007 - Usape Nelson Wireless Sdn Bhd (“Usape”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nextnation Communication and provider of wireless entertainment, content aggregation and mobile software solutions to corporate clients from telecommunication, financial, and fast going consumer goods industries, together with One Stop Music Sdn. Bhd. (“OSM”), a representative body that signifies all the independent music labels in Malaysia, announced today that they have signed an agreement to create and distribute mobile music and graphics based on the given authorized digital music license.
With this partnership, Usape is allowed to produce true tones and generate wallpapers based on artists from up to 30 or more local music publishers. Apart from Malaysia, these publishers also cover various artists from Asian markets such as Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines, China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong. This includes the likes of KRU Music Group, Rock Records, Life Records, Suria Records, NSR, Interglobal and many more. Some of the featured artists are XPDC, Mawi, Gary Chao, Siti Nurhaliza, Karen Kong, Dayang Nurfaizah, and many other local artists.
“OSM’s incredible library of music allows us to create unique mobile ringtones that are able to capture great audiences and constantly keep them coming back for more”, said Irene Ting, Usape’s Customer & Partners Relation Manager.
According to Wireless World Forum (W2F), in Malaysia, it is forecasted that mobile music content could generate revenues up to US$57 million in the year 2007. Mobile music content is indeed very fruitful in this market.
