April 01, 2009 - The US Review of Books has reached agreement with the Eric Hoffer Project (HofferProject.org) to cover the 2009 Eric Hoffer Award results. The results had been previously reported in the annual anthology Best New Writing and will continue to be listed there along with the winning stories for the Hoffer prose award.
Set to launch in June 2009, the US Review of Books (theUSreview.com) prepares to become a significant voice in not only independent publishing, but for all books published annually. “Too often, great books are ignored,” says Martin. “The US Review will treat all published and prepublication books fairly. We are taking advantage of contemporary technologies in order to handle the influx of requests.”
In May, the US Review will provide in-depth coverage of the judges’ commentary for the annual Eric Hoffer Award for books and prose, including the results of the Montaigne Medal for most thought-provoking books and the da Vinci Eye for superior cover art. The Montaigne and da Vinci short lists have been released on HofferAward.com.
Preceding the Hoffer grand prize, the winners of the da Vinci Eye and the Montaigne Medal winners will be announced during the weeks of April 13 and April 20 respectively. The Eric Hoffer Award short list will be announced during the week of April 27, with the grand prize announcement arriving in May.
