Upmarket Benidorm Stars In TV Shows And Property Launch

UK TV coverage planned for Benidorm will highlight the resort's upmarket moves as property online specialists, PropertyInSpain.Net launch luxury homes for sale in the Benidorm Hills, overlooking Europe's favourite seaside resort and bay.

(1888PressRelease) September 04, 2007 - The fast emerging upmarket resort of Benidorm will feature on British television this autumn with programmes on holidays, restaurants, historical and cultural attractions and well as a new series of Benidorm, the sit-com around coach holidays from hell.

First, travel programme, Wish You Were Here, will feature the attractions of Benidorm, the Costa Blanca tourist magnet that rose to fame in the 70s and has been a favourite ever since with Brits seeking sun, sea and sand.

British viewers will become familiar with Benidorm Palace over the next few months as Ricky Tomlinson (Brookside and The Royale Family) is hosting a BBC show covering the quality aspects of the town.

It’s not about packed beaches, English pubs or tacky tourist attractions. Ricky Tomlinson, who describes himself as one of Benidorm’s biggest fans, will present the most up-market restaurants, best places to go for a night out, and the historical attractions and cultural sights that will appeal to the most discerning holidaymaker.

Then rival channel ITV, has booked the cabaret hall for the hen party of one of the producers on breakfast show GMTV, hosted by Ross Kelly, Anthea Turner and Kate Fleming and is planning a follow-up to last year’s love-it-or-hate-it series, Benidorm – imaginatively titled Benidorm II.

The sitcom features a group of British holidaymakers on the ‘holiday from hell’ - a coach trip to Benidorm where disaster strikes at every turn. Starring Steve Pemberton and Johnny Vegas, the series features an unlikely mix of social characters and stereotypes among British holidaymakers.

ITV are seeking extras for the show, who must be British, aged between 18 and 65, and resident in the Benidorm area. Candidates need to be available between September and November. Anyone interested should contact Mediterránea Audición on 629 11 55 68.

Note: The television coverage coincides with new launches of upmarket Benidorm Hills residential communities this month with prices from around £150,000 for sea view apartments and such great value they come with guaranteed 90% mortgages from specialists, PropertyInSpain.Net, offering all the apartments, townhouses and villas being built in the rolling hills overlooking Benidorm and its sweeping bay.
