Spotify playlists are compilations of tracks that users can lovingly put together just like the “mixtapes” of yesteryear. Anything goes, any style, any niche, any artist. The playlists could comprise music from a certain year that holds fond memories, maybe a collection of the latest R&B songs, or perhaps the user is a huge fan of Sinatra, Debussy, Madonna or Bloc Party and has compiled the definitive collection for that artist.
A major benefit of this free service is that the playlists are searchable via the keywords contained in their descriptions. To enhance the creativity factor, users are also invited to submit their own custom-made artwork for their playlist compilations.
