Type 2 Diabetes And Prostate Cancer? Author Suellyn Davis, ND, Releases New Books In Hypoglycemia Series

Author discusses the subject of hypoglycemia and how to overcome the effects

(1888PressRelease) June 02, 2008 - Dr. Suellyn Davis, author of a number of books targeted to helping those who suffer from hypoglycemia, has released several new books. ‘Achieve Victory Over Low Blood Sugar/Hypoglycemia’ is designed to help hypoglycemics overcome the overwhelming challenges this group faces. In addition, Dr. Davis has released ‘Cooking Sugar Free For Health’, designed as a supplementary resource to be paired with ‘Achieve Victory Over Low Blood Sugar/Hypoglycemia’.

“With the recent rise in the number of cases of Diabetes/Hypoglycemia,” Dr. Davis stated, “it is imperative that those who suspect or are diagnosed with either learn to control the disease or condition, and it is urgent that those males who have any blood sugar problems in their family history keep a check on prostate cancer and change their diet and lifestyles to help sidestep complications and to catch any prostate cancer in its earliest stage.”

Hypoglycemia is the medical term for a pathological state produced by a higher than normal level of insulin to fight glucose in the blood. The primary medical problems produced by hypoglycemia arise from an overabundance of insulin to break down glucose as fuel to the body, affecting the entire brain and body. Symptoms can range from simply feeling ‘bad’ to brain fog or confusion, diabetic coma or even permanent brain damage. It is necessary for hypoglycemics to avoid certain food and drinks, get the type of exercise that causes the insulin system to be more effective and make a few lifestyle changes.

Recent studies have shown there is a link between diabetes and prostate cancer. One of a group of newly discovered genes, JAZF1, contains a separate variant that causes a predisposition to prostate cancer. This gene, when carried in a family, may cause sugar problems or prostate cancer or both.

Dr. Davis states that she is “a life long hypoglycemic who now can share what I have learned through my experience in life, the kitchen and diet with others. I have suffered with this condition for 24 years. I am now retired and spend my time writing and helping others who are either on or just beginning the Hypoglycemic and/or Diabetic diet and lifestyle. When not writing or coaching, much of my time is spent managing my online communities that are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the hypoglycemic.”

“‘Achieving Victory Over Low Blood Sugar/Hypoglycemia’ was written specifically for hypoglycemics who want to improve their overall health situation. The book is written in medium large print for the visually impaired and is formatted to help combat the problem of ‘brain fog’ so often experienced by hypoglycemics by making the instructions easy to follow. These books are also good for diabetics to use for those low blood sugar moments which accompany diabetes so often,” stated Dr. Davis.
