Twickenham Stadium Gets A New Identity

Twickenham Stadium gets a new identity

(1888PressRelease) February 23, 2008 - The redevelopment of the south stand at Twickenham has allowed the stadium to undergo a branding and signage review.

Paul Vaughan, the RFU's Director of Business Operations explains, 'We want to ensure that Twickenham Stadium is a world class stadium and venue with a powerful 'destination' brand. Twickenham is becoming a venue for more than rugby; a place for entertainment, shopping, corporate hospitality, leisure facilities and top class accommodation. It will be a 365 day a year destination and needed its branding and signage system to be refreshed in line with the developments.'

The new signage system will be in place for the first RBS 6 Nations match in February and supporters coming to the stadium will find themselves sitting in differently numbered seating blocks. Each of the four stands (North, South, East and West) now has its three levels of seats labelled lower, middle and upper with block numbers starting numerically in the south west corner and running clock wise around the stadium bowl.

All the blocks will be well signposted in the distinctive new brand and stewards will be on hand to point people in the right direction.
