September 16, 2009 - Total Sports Asia K.K. (TSA) has acquired the international media distribution rights to New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). Founded in 1972 by the legendary Antonio Inoki, NJPW is the largest wrestling promotion in Japan and one of the most established in the world.
Some of the world’s biggest superstars have wrestled at NJPW events, including the great André the Giant, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Kurt Angle, and the current roster includes Japanese stars such as Masahiro Chono and Riki Choshu.
Under the terms of the appointment, TSA will distribute all media rights of NJPW including free-to-air, cable, satellite, IPTV, mobile and DVD across all territories worldwide except Japan, Taiwan, Spanish language rights in North America and Latin America, for all NJPW coverage produced by TV Asahi Corporation on an exclusive basis.
