September 18, 2007 - The old English meaning of the word, WEALTH, means Be Well. In thoroughly modern times, that has translated into a meaning derivative of having great hoards of cash.
”Today it seems as if most people are into some get rich scheme thinking that money solves all their problems. Money solves money problems and that’s it,” says Laurie Brenner, author of The Little Book of Becoming – Understanding the Law of Attraction. “True wealth consists of being happy, feeling healthy, successful, and fulfilled, maintaining and enjoying loving supportive relationships, finding uplifting and satisfying work as well as having our desires and needs met and enjoying life to the fullest. How many people can actually say that?”
Money can accompany true wealth, but it is not the be-all, end-all goal in and of itself she explains in her book. “We are on a journey of discovering and becoming more of who we are: divine children of the Universe. “While the movie The Secret talks about some of the basic tenets of the law of attraction, it doesn’t really provide a deep understanding of how it works.”
“A lot of people think that if they just have positive thoughts, ask for the desires and wait around for them, it will come true. Focusing on the positive and resisting the negative will ensure the negative in your life,” Brenner says, “focus rather on the positive the negative frames.”
“We live life in a physical reality that is comprised of both positive and negative. The very nature of our planet requires the joining of these opposites to create a whole. By focusing on just the positive and ignoring and or resisting the negative, you’re setting yourself up for failure.”

Laurie Brenner, former managing editor of California’s Oldest Continuously Published Weekly, and her husband used these principles to design, create and build their dream house on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada just a red-tailed hawk’s flight south of Lake Tahoe.
