October 11, 2007 - The Chinese consumer electronics industry will witness some new trends in a period of time in the future, as more emphasis will be given to products and services with multifunctional and compatible features, predicted the CCID Consulting, an IT market research and consulting firm.
Firstly, 3C products are going to be a strong rising force in electronics market. The CCID holds the idea that the home appliance manufacturing industry, the communication equipment manufacturing industry and the IT industry are showing a strong inclination to make 3C products. A good number of consumer electronic products with new functions and designs are available in current market, for example, television with access to internet, PDA with which users can make phone calls and MP3 player able to play videos.
Secondly, consumer electronics will have more humane and individualized design. Due to fierce market competition, market segmentation is being constantly conducted in order to facilitate the development of new technologies and products that meet consumers’ more personalized needs, for instance, big-screen LCD television, technologies featuring in mass and quick storage capacity, and digital camera and video containing advanced technology.
Thirdly, household digital products will become a new engine driving Chinese consumer electronics industry. The CCID believes that the rise of household digital products signals that the information industry is developing with increasing focus on household consumer electronics and more and more information technology and digital technology are adopted in the design of consumer electronics. Meanwhile, computer, communication equipment and home appliance are designed to permit mutual recognition and resource sharing. The continuous development of digital television and broad-band communication network will definitely create a huge market for consumer electronics industry.
