July 16, 2008 - Appling, GA — Beginning May 1st, Trade Winds Marina is pleased to announce the addition of Sunset Dock, a new dock that will increase the number of open slips from 68 to 82. Overall slip lengths will also increase from 24’-55’ to 24’-80’. The amount of covered slips will remain at 145, and the length of covered slips will stay at 55’. Sunset Dock will be the premiere dock on Lake Thurmond, providing the best views and fairways available for the largest houseboats on the Lake. It also boasts concrete decking, beautiful sunsets, and huge fairways for maneuvering.
Trade Winds Marina provides boaters with 247 dry storage slips in addition to numerous wet slips. Dry storage includes: outside open storage spaces, covered boat sheds, and dry stack storage spaces. These slips include covered and uncovered land storage with launch for boats up to 30’ and a dry stack, which includes slips up to 21’. Jet Ski ports are also available. Private restrooms and shower facilities, cabin rental, dockside power and water, and private boat launch are just some of the wonderful amenities available at the marina. Service and repairs and new and used boat sales are available through Hayes Marine.
