May 12, 2009 - Raanana, Israel - TraceSpan Communications, a leader in broadband analysis and monitoring solutions, today announces an updated version of its DSL Xpert(TM) analyzer, which supports the latest versions of the ADSL2 and ADSL2Plus standards.
DSL Xpert(TM) is a multi-layer analyzer, which provides a complete and accurate analysis of ADSL product performance and interoperability without affecting the data transfer between the transceivers. With its unique multi-layer probing capability, DSL Xpert(TM) focuses on the physical layer, and provides comprehensive analysis of data in any form - from analog samples to bits and messages.
In addition, it extracts the Upper Layers cells and packets and provides data, signaling and warnings of incompatibility with the various protocols from ATM through DHCP and TR-069. DSL Xpert(TM) simultaneously presents downstream and upstream data and the connection between the two. Its feature-rich GUI presents multi-layer information in convenient displays, and also allows automatic generation of exportable reports.
Now, DSL Xpert(TM) adds support for amendments 2, 3, 4 and 5 to the G.992.3 ADSL2 standard and amendments 2, 3, 4 and 5 to the G.992.5 ADSL2Plus standard, as well as for the integrated versions of these standards approved earlier this year. These amendments include corrections for some inaccuracies and inconsistencies in the earlier versions of the standards, as well as new functionalities defined by the ITU-T standardization committees.
"As the industry's leader in passive broadband communications analyzers, TraceSpan is committed to keeping its products up-to-date with the latest developments of the standards", said Dr. Hanan Herzberg, TraceSpan founder and CEO. "Developers and users of DSL equipment are looking for a tool which will help them overcome issues such as interoperability and compliance with the standards, especially when updates to these standards are introduced. TraceSpan is closely following the broadband communications standards development and continuously updates its products to support the standards as they evolve."
The new version is available as a free-of-charge upgrade to all TraceSpan's customers who have a maintenance agreement for the DSL Xpert(TM). It will also be included in all the new DSL Xpert(TM) units shipped from now on.
