Its most important changes in recent years were on the 2007 model, from which the 2009 model remains largely unaltered. For 2009, though, it is given more interior space; more powerful and fuel efficient engines, and more transmission choices.
Engine
The 2009 Toyota Camry is offered in Base LE, SE and XLE trims among hybrid and non-hybrid varieties. The base model comes with a 2.4-liter; 158 hp engine with five-speed manual or electronic transmission. The more powerful 3.5-liter; DOHC V6 engine has 268 horsepower on a six-speed auto transmission.
Interiors and exteriors
The most aerodynamic Camry till date, the 2009 version offers multi-reflector halogen headlamps with auto on/off; chrome-tipped dual exhausts and a choice of 16, 17 or 18-inch wheelbases for the exteriors. It carries refined and neatly polished, opulent features for the interiors.
Safety
The prime safety features of the 2009 Toyota Camry are a standard tire-pressure monitor; anti-lock brakes consisting of brake assist and electronic brake-force distribution, which are common for all models; optional Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control.
