#2. Christmas stamp from Finland

In May 2008, Slovenia issued its Europa postage stamps following PostEurop's chosen theme for 2008 - 'The Letter'.

#4. Olympic Stamps from Uruguay
This set of stamps, inspired by the Beijing Olympic mascot Fu Wa, displays the lasting combination between stamps and sports as embodying the notions of peace, harmony and development that are cherished by all nations.

#5. Swedish Comic Strips
These stamps with the theme Swedish Comic Strips were issued in September 2008.

This ten-stamp booklet depicting Garfield the cat was released last October in France.

In April 2008, Taiwan Post released two souvenir sheets featuring Disney characters from animated movie "Finding Nemo" to stimulate interest in philately among youths.

#8. 'Little Polar Bear' stamp from Switzerland
The Little Polar Bear Lars has had a loyal following for more than twenty years. The picture-book character created by Hans de Beer inspired eight books and two films, and the animated cartoon series ran for years on television.

#9. Ireland: Greetings 2008
Over the years, An Post has used some of Ireland's most talented illustrators and artists to design the Greetings stamps. Steve Simpson illustrated the 2008 series. The stamps feature a funky fabric elephant and a patchwork frog.

#10. Holiday Stamps from Iceland
In 2008 Iceland Post held a competition among primary school children for the designs of two Christmas stamps. Two 2nd grade schoolboys of Nesskoli in Neskaupsstadur won the contest. The motifs consist of the Yule Goblin Stiff-Legs and the Christmas Cat.
