June 21, 2007 - Tone VIP and Hersh Present: “Y’all Don’t Do It Like Dis” 24 year old Hip-Hop sensation, SHEA Gears up For the Release of his Debut Single
Englewood Cliffs, NJ –The Bronx, hip-hop’s Mecca, is about to see another one of its own become a star! Twenty-four-year-old Shea was born in the borough and then raised in Westchester County and in North Carolina where he went to Laurinburgh High School. He got his first taste of the entertainment world when he was only 12 and cast in the feature film Eddie with Oscar-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg. With a multitude of talents, Shea had to decide whether to shine on the court or on the stage; Shea chose the latter, marking the takeoff of his musical career.
Five years ago, Shea landed a recording deal with Big Daddy Records, but he soon outgrew the label. With the development of Stay Laist Records, Shea now has a larger platform on which to develop and showcase his talents. Stay Laist Records was founded by Shea's brother, Tony "VIP" Lopez, Jr.. Tony V.I.P. has been in the game for a while producing tracks for Swizz Beats, Dip Set, Peter Gunz, and Lord Tariq as well as newcomers Mims and Cassidy. Under the direction of his brother, Shea was soon a regular feature on numerous mix tapes and CDs, with such notable DJs as DJ L, Freestyle Mix CD, DJ Suss 1,We Don't Care , DJ Kool Kid Out In Kali featuring Butch Cassidy and The Boost, featuring J Records hot newcomer, Shells.
Along the way, Shea has even made a return to his acting roots, appearing in the feature film Destiny Fame with B2K, Omarion, and Joe Jackson, father of superstar, Michael Jackson.
Now Shea is back behind the microphone—where he belongs. He is currently gearing up for the release of his debut single, “Y’all Don’t Do It Like Dis,” produced by Tone V.IP. and Hersh. With Shea’s buttery smooth delivery and hood-rich, hard-hitting lyrics, he’s sure to do right by his Bronx roots in no time at all.
