February 28, 2009 - Tompkins initial plans call for adding clean room capabilities, additional Liquid Injection Molding (LIM) presses, and investments in equipment and other plant upgrades. Phase one renovations entail major changes to the layout and expansion of the South Plainfield, NJ factory.
“The upgrades and renovations will enhance our capabilities and help to facilitate additional pharmaceutical and medical business. Upgrading the facility was a top priority of mine when I joined Tompkins Pharmaceutical last year,” said Mike Carollo, President Tompkins Pharmaceutical Rubber.
Tompkins will continue to operate under ISO-Certification while undergoing the upgrades. Tompkins’ manufacturing plant is located in South Plainfield, New Jersey. In the current facility, Tompkins utilizes custom-made tools and highly sophisticated equipment designed specifically to manufacture rubber components for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
