November 20, 2008 - MIDDLEBURY, CT – Timex, a leader in outdoor and sports performance timepieces, today launched the Timex® Ironman® Race Trainer™ digital heart rate monitor series, a collection of technologically advanced training aids designed for modern endurance athletes and fitness enthusiasts worldwide.
A sleek polyurethane digital transmission chest sensor allows a user’s body to sync with the HRM watch to yield precise fitness data over extended training periods. The Timex Ironman* Race Trainer™ digital heart rate monitor and the Timex Data Xchanger USB device, which utilize ANT+Sport™ wireless technology, work as a system to provide online training logs powered by TrainingPeaks™ software.

The collection possesses an array of essential fitness functions, including a 10-workout memory and a five-segment variable-intensity interval timer. The Timex Data Xchanger USB device transmits zone and interval setup information among other workout and watch parameters.
The heart rate monitor is available in four watch styles, in both men's and women's sizes. It boasts a useful range of features, including:
1. 50-lap memory with average heart rate per lap
2. chrono or interval workout review with average/peak heart rate, time spent in target heart rate zone, and calories burned
3. automatic heart rate recovery with multiple pre-set durations
4. 100M water-resistance rating for enhanced watch durability
Timex Ironman Race Trainer digital heart rate monitor series will be available for purchase in November 2008 (full-size) and January 2009 (mid-size) at Timex.com for $150, as well as in sporting goods stores and sports specialty retailers nationwide. TheTimex Data Xchanger USB device will be available for $100. The Timex Ironman Race Trainer Digital Heart Rate Monitor and Timex Data Xchanger USB are also available in a single kit for $220.
