Tigerlily Foundation Is Excited To Announce New Sponsorship With Middleburg Bank, Partnership With Lucy Clothing Line, New Wig Line And Woman Of The Year Award

Tigerlily Foundation secures sponsorship with local bank; hosts fundraising event with Lucy clothing line, and founder receives award.

(1888PressRelease) May 09, 2008 - Reston, Virginia/USA – Tigerlily Foundation (Tigerlily) is excited to announce some new accomplishments. Tigerlily educates, empowers and supports breast cancer patients, survivors, their families and the community.

Tigerlily recently secured a local corporate sponsor, Middleburg Bank (www.middleburgbank.com). Known as the Biggest Little Bank in Virginia, Middleburg Bank serves customers in several towns in Virginia, including Leesburg, Middleburg, Reston, Purcellville and Ashburn.

Tigerlily Foundation’s founder, Maimah Karmo received the Woman of the Year award by the Nu Xi Zeta Chapter of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority (www.nuxizeta.org). The award was given for outstanding work in the local community and breast cancer advocacy. “Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is a community-conscious, action-oriented organization committed to effectively and compassionately meeting the needs of the communities it serves.” Further, the Nu Xi Zeta Chapter is dedicated to enriching the community and ensuring excellence.

Tigerlily Foundation is also excited about a partnership with the Lucy clothing line. Lucy is dedicated to making apparel and active wear that is stylish, real, vibrant, and exciting. “Every time you walk into Lucy, you'll feel the energy level go up. Up in a positive, upbeat, powerfully optimistic kind of way. [Lucy employees] radiate a kind of energy that's utterly motivating. And incredibly inspiring… Because positive energy is woven into our very philosophy. It's part of the core values we were founded on and what makes Lucy not just another store, but a community. We want to be the place that nurtures, not exhausts. A place you feel motivated and encouraged, even empowered. So when you walk in we're an energy well you can drink at. Whatever the day took away, we refill” (www.lucy.com).

On May 15, 2008, shoppers are invited to attend a special event at Lucy’s newest location, at Bethesda Row, in Bethesda, Maryland. All shoppers will receive 20% off their entire purchase of regular priced merchandise, plus Lucy will donate 10% of the day’s sales to Tigerlily Foundation. All proceeds received will go to support women living with breast cancer, providing them with financial support and inspiration.

Last, but not least, Tigerlily Foundation in conjunction with Truly Unique Hair (www.trulyunique-hair.com/) will be launching a line of wigs designed for women undergoing chemotherapy who have lost their hair and women who are trying to re-grow their hair after treatment. The line of wigs will be available in July 2008. Truly Unique Hair’s founder, Karen Jones “is committed to a long-lasting partnership with the Tigerlily Foundation because we are dedicated to the well-being, empowerment and enhancement of women”.

Tigerlily’s founder, Maimah Karmo, is “excited about the contributions we are making to the community. We look forward to educating and empowering women, saving lives and inspiring women to achieve new heights!” A sought after speaker, published writer, breast cancer and women’s rights advocate, Ms. Karmo is committed to advocating for breast cancer awareness, educating women (and men) around the world about breast cancer; and empowering them to celebrate their lives every day by harnessing their personal power.

Tigerlily’s programs provide chemotherapy buddy support, group meetings for survivors, raise funds for people in need of financial aid, offer beauty and pampering services to women undergoing treatment and is dedicated to providing breast cancer support to the women of Liberia, as well as women around the world. We are also particularly dedicated to helping those in underserved communities and minorities.
