Three Students of LPU won Entry for Miss India-2017 Finals in Mumbai

  • (1888PressRelease) October 21, 2016 - Miss India Earth (2014) Alankrita Sahai reached LPU Campus and judged three students of Lovely Professional University Simranjeet Deol (Physiotherapy), Sahiba Simran Pannu (Food Technology) and Tanushree Alice (Fashion Desin) for final round of Miss India-2017. Selected as the best among 26 finalists and hundreds of participants from different institutions, Simranjeet Deol has now got direct entry to Miss India Finals to be held in the first months of 2017 in Mumbai. The two other participants have also been bracketed as winner along with Deol. The winners will now fly directly to Mumbai to try for their selection as Miss India, to further participate in world competitions. Participating in the biggest annual competitive festival of LPU "YOUTH VIBE- 2016", these three students of LPU have been selected as LPU Campus Princesses-2016.

    Campus Princess 2016 is a pageant that is organized by the Miss India Organization to find contestants for Femina Miss India & Miss Diva pageants. Former & present Miss India winners alongside members from Miss India Organization scout for potential contestants from across College Campus in the country. LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal congratulated the winning students and inspired them to keep on working hard to further win the national and international titles too.

    Belonging to state of Maharashtra, Deol is State level Basket-ball player, Skater and already a winner of LPU Miss Concoction-2016, Miss Youth Vibe 2015, Miss Zeitjeist-2016 IIT Ropar, and above all, always 9 Grader in her academics. Simranjeet Deol is an all-rounder and loves many dance forms including Bhangra, Laavni, Giddha, Kathak and more. Imbibing ethical values from her mother; patience from father; and the best support from her brother; Deol is determined to adopt modeling, acting and social service as her career. She advises girls to choose right paths instead of short ways and says: "Life at LPU has much to give to all of the students, and the need only is to experience it as per your passions". She also shared that the worst part of her persona is to be emotional. Other winners Pannu and Alice are also much enthralled on this win. Both of them shared that girls should not leave any stone un-turned for converting their dreams into reality.

    Other events which were held today included competitions in the fields of Animation, Applied Medical Sciences, Architecture & Design, Arts & Languages, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Application, Electronics & Communication, Fashion Technology, Journalism & Film Production, Mechanical Engineering, Media, Education and Dance Competitions 'Nritya Natraj' for Semi/classical and "Just Duet" for Folk / Indo Western
