Thiruvallur version of Santosh Trophy kickstarts with an Online Presence

The Thiruvallur version of Santosh trophy 2009 kickstarted with inagural match between Railways and New Delhi. It has launches its own online resource www.tdfasantosh.co.nr.


(1888PressRelease) May 25, 2009 - Chennai, With the world cup fever hitting the nation, TDFA, in its continuous endeavor to give its viewers the best organizing ‘Santosh Trophy’. The show has the sizzling teams various states of India.

The 63rd National National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy, alloted by All India football Federation to Tamil Nadu will be organized at four district venues from 24th May to 14th June 2009. The four venues are Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirapalli and Thiruvallur(DBYC – Wisdom Town stadium, Redhills)

The Thiruvallur leg of the event, being managed by the TDFA(Thiruvallur District Football Association) has been alloted two clusters leagues, of a total of eight cluster leagues. The event will be happening from 24th-31st May, 2009.
As a new initiative, and first of its kind, TDFA version of the event will be having a comprehensive set of new media facilities like website, blog, online groups and communities.

Comprehensive details about the event can be obtained from the website www.tdfasantosh.co.nr Talking about the event, Mr.Standy Dhanraj, Secretary, TDFA, announced in the press conference, that he promised that the Thiruvallur version of the Santosh Trophy will provide provide an entirely different entertainment for the audience The event was be inaguarated by Mr.G.Sundaramurthi,I.A.S., District Collector, Thiruvallur in the prescence of Fr.N.Gerard, Director, Don Bosco Youth Centre, Red-Hills with Shri. Lion.B. Jayaraman, Managing Director, BJ Expo, Avadi., presiding over the function.

The inagural match was between Railways and Delhi. As expected, Railways provided a good show. The initial and the only goal of the match was scored by Abishek of Railways at the 46th minute and the match was won by Railways There were a total of six yellow cards issued, with Railways getting five of them and New Delhi getting One yellow card Score: Railways 1- 0 New Delhi.
