Beasley, who hails from Paragould, Arkansas, is a dedicated amateur triathlete who ranked 6th in the XTERRA 2006 Triathlon.

Beasley is motivated to succeed as an athlete by a variety of factors. One factor was body image. “I was that fat kid in high school. I started running in college and, honestly, I’m probably addicted to it,” Beasley said. Another motivation factor for Beasley is running’s simplicity—shoes and the open road; finally, there’s the notion of competing with oneself.
Beasley is inspired most by his mentor, high school coach Rick Watson. “I’m a better person because he was in my life,” Beasley remarked, and then added, “I hope some day someone will say the same about me.”
Beasley’s athletic accomplishments are unusual: in addition to the 6th-place ranking in the 2006 Xterra Triathlon, he is a member of the 50 States Marathon club. “In 2007 I ran the Walt Disney World 5K on a Friday, the Half Marathon that Saturday, and the full Marathon that Sunday,” Beasley reports, “but finishing the Sylamore 50 in Arkansas was a hinge point for me.” The photo of Beasley on www.ThinkFastMoveFaster.com shows him wading through icy waters in shorts and a winter cap.
