October 23, 2007 - The third and final season of Veronica Mars is set to be released on October 23rd 2007.
Veronica Mars ran for three seasons [two on UPN and one on the CW] and quickly drew praise from some of the nation’s most prominent publications including the LA Weekly, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and People. The series ended abruptly this May with fans and critics wanting more from creator Rob Thomas and the talented cast & crew. Sales and promotion of the new DVD set will be critical when it comes to reaching our goals of syndication and a movie. The DVD set will include the season’s 20 episodes, features called “Pitching Season 4” which is an in-depth interview with creator Rob Thomas discussing a new direction for the series presented to network executives that picks up years later, with Veronica as a rookie FBI agent, “Going Undercover with Rob Thomas” where Thomas walks us through some of the most memorable moments from season three, it also includes a Webisode gallery with cast interviews and various set tours, also there will be unaired scenes with introductions by Rob Thomas and of course, a gag reel!
Neptune Rising, a Veronica Mars fan group, is working diligently to get Veronica Mars made into a feature film and get the show into syndication. The members of Neptune Rising run a fan forum and have prominent MySpace page where fans can stay up-to-date with the campaign and sign petitions that will help them reach their goals.
