April 15, 2007 - “In music, the arts, and in words; within philosophy, spirituality, and even simple soul searching; and ultimately within people themselves- there is beauty in the world.”
The purpose behind the new message board is to celebrate the idea that there is still beauty in the world despite any particular struggle humanity is currently having. This celebration takes place in four basic forms: music, art, writing, and spirituality. Each topic can be expanded upon to express a particular subject or interest. Everyone is encouraged to post their work or links to favorite pieces on the Internet, or join in on a lively conversation.
“The main reason for creating the message board is because throughout time, humanity has struggled with itself, made war, and caused suffering.
It has always been the artists, musicians, writers, and the spiritually inclined people that have offered mankind a higher vision of itself. The present time is no different than the past in this respect. It's still important to remind people that there is beauty in the world,” according to Brian Douthit, the creator of the new message board.
Douthit is a poet who plays New Age, Ambient, and World music, on his Internet radio station, Eyes Of The Poet Radio. He also reviews books that are spiritual in nature. “I’m not really interested in promoting myself or anything I do with this new message board,” says Douthit. “I want to see what the rest of the world is doing by celebrating music, art, poetry, writing, and spirituality along with them.”
