December 01, 2007 - With the Launch of TheLandLordTimes.com, Professional Publishing, Inc brings the power of community driven sites to the rental housing industry.
“We’re very excited about TheLandlordTimes.com,” says Will Johnson, VP and Publisher of PPI. “We wanted to create a highly interactive online community that would not only be the web-face of our publications, but would also serve as a springboard for us nationally. We needed to create a unique place for property managers, investors, and maintenance professionals to go where they can get information, news and share opinions about the industry. This website accomplishes those goals and will provide the base for our future expansion, both on - line and in print.”
The site features a continuously updated searchable database of articles, blogs and videos covering all facets of the rental housing and real estate investing industries. It also includes downloadable archives of the On-Site, Metro Apartment Manager, Valley Apartment Manager and Apartment News publications, industry news feeds, and free classified advertisements for property for sale and industry employment. “We have to give people a reason to come back regularly. Whether you subscribe to one of our print publications or you only read on-line, there will be something new for you everyday,” says Johnson.
One of the unique features of TheLandlordTimes.com is the ability of users to interact and comment on the content of the site. “Interaction is everything on the web. If you look at the most successful websites in any industry, Craigslist, Amazon and YouTube, as examples, there is a level of interaction among users and content providers,” he explains.
“We’re diving head-first into that concept. We’d like nothing more than to receive instant feedback from our readers about our content and we’re encouraging just that. I want to know what a property manager in Portland or Phoenix or Akron, Ohio, for that matter, thinks about our 10 Tips for Effective Apartment Marketing,” Johnson continues. “Maybe numbers 4 and 7 work great for someone, but number two is expensive and ineffective. Maybe someone else has a different spin on number three that has been great. Then folks from Seattle, Sacramento and Tampa, Florida chime in with tips that work for them that we never even thought of.”
Further, TheLandlordTimes.com encourages users to post classifieds and post industry related events on its community calendar. “The free classifieds and event advertisements on the calendar are part of the same concept. If our site helps someone buy or sell a property, or find the perfect candidate or job, find an educational conference in their area or fill an extra seat at their investing seminar, then we’re doing our job and accomplishing our objective,” says Johnson.
“That’s what is so exciting. We provide the place and the catalyst, but the audience, those who are truly the pros, have the opportunity to interact and make each other better at what they do.”
