The Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York Hosts 2008 Conference

The “Edward Strausman 2008 Birthmarks Foundation Conference” will be held on Saturday, November 15 from 8:30 am to 6 pm at Beth Israel’s Phillips Ambulatory Care Center, 10 Union Square East in Manhattan.


New York, NY (1888PressRelease) November 15, 2008 - The Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York (VBINY) at Roosevelt Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center, in conjunction with The Vascular Birthmarks Foundation, will host the “Edward Strausman 2008 Birthmarks Foundation Conference” on Saturday, November 15 from 8:30 am to 6 pm at Beth Israel’s Phillips Ambulatory Care Center, 10 Union Square East in Manhattan.

The full-day conference is co-hosted by Milton Waner, MD and Alejandro Berenstein, MD, both of whom are co-directors of the VBINY. Dr. Waner is a pediatric facial plastic surgeon known for his surgical expertise in the treatment of hemangiomas and vascular malformations. Dr. Alejandro Berenstein is a world-renowned leader in using interventional neuroradiology and endovascular treatment for conditions related to the vascular system.

The Vascular Birthmark Foundation Conference will also feature other prominent physicians in this field, who will discuss treatments for hemangiomas, port wine stains, AVM, and other vascular and venous malformations. There also will be a free clinic session for registered families so that their children can be assessed by one of the participating physicians.

Additionally, there will be a “Mark of Beauty” Gala to jointly benefit the Vascular Birthmarks Foundation and the Vascular Birthmark Institute of New York Children’s Surgery Fund at Roosevelt Hospital. The gala will take place on Friday, November 14 from 7 to 10 pm at the Hudson Theatre, 145 W. 44th St.
