March 15, 2007 - After its previous successes, including on February 7th of this year, the Chandler ArtWalk is coming back for its second time this year on March 7, from 5 to 9pm. The ArtWalk runs between San Marcos Place and Boston Street. With Chandler’s great support of its artistic community, the ArtWalk will now be available on the first Wednesday of every month.
The ArtWalk is a sidewalk arts festival that allows 30 to 50 artists to display and sell their pieces every month. The local color and charm of the entire Chandler community comes alive in its downtown historic district, with this pedestrian event.
Participants of the ArtWalk will view and shop among the paintings, jewelry, photography, and glass art from over 35 different artists. To add to the artistic atmosphere, the stores and the restaurants will be open late, with wine tasting and live jazz available at T’z Market Place. Sidewalk cafes offer a relaxing place to take a break and breathe from the incredible sights and overwhelming talents on display.
Only artists who are members of the Chandler Art Guild may participate in selling and displaying their talent at ArtWalk, though everybody is welcome to have a look and to shop. In fact, in February, approximately 600 people came by to take in Chandler’s artistic talent, and that number is only expected to grow as the event continues with each passing month.
Chandler is becoming quite the location for community events, where several businesses and individuals pull together to create a pleasing and successful result.
Only recently did the first online Chandler mall open up at www.chandlerchambercommunity.com, an online example of what the Chandler community is capable of accomplishing when its members put their heads together.
