November 15, 2008 - Troy, MI - The Suburban Collection today kicked off a series of employee, customer and community events to commemorate the company’s 60th anniversary. The celebration launched at Saturn of Troy, one of the Collection’s most successful locations and the largest selling Saturn dealership in the world and will continue to all of the 30 brands, body refinishing centers and the Southeastern Michigan Accessory Center.
The Suburban Collection began on this date in 1948 with the grand opening of a GM dealership in Birmingham Michigan. Today the Collection includes 16 GM franchises and has expanded to also represent 24 additional brands. 36 Suburban Collection locations span the state of Michigan and south Florida. Body refinishing shops and automotive accessory distributorships are also a part of the Suburban Collection.
