October 21, 2009 - Autism Care and Treatment's (ACT Today's) 4th Annual Denim and Diamonds fundraiser benefiting children with autism will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 from 6-10 PM at a private estate in Hidden Hills. The public is invited to join ACT Today, celebrities and other ACTivists for a night of entertainment, fun, food and awareness of autism care and treatment.
Jerry Penacoli, senior reporter of the syndicated hit “EXTRA”, will co-host the evening with ACT Today’s Executive Director, Nancy Alspaugh-Jackson.
With a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll, the night will kick off with an appearance by “Motley Crue’s” Nikki Sixx who will be auctioning off his signed bass guitar, followed by the premiere of performer Lori Hart-Dorff’s single “Big Day”, written by Andrew Dorff and Angela Kasset, and produced by veteran record producer Steve Dorff. All proceeds from the sale of “Big Day” will go to fund grants for families with autistic children. After a program and live auction, the night will be topped off with a performance and dancing by “Sacred Cowboys”, from the HBO television series “Deadwood”.
VIP’s in attendance will include autism expert and ACT Today! founder Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh; medical expert Dr. Jeff Bradstreet; board member and FX Network Chief, Chuck Saftler; FOX SPORTS SR. VP and board member Read Jackson, Daily Variety’s Mark Torres; and Ron Tutor of Tutor Saliba Construction, one of the presenting sponsors of the event. Celebrities scheduled to attend include Tom Bergeron of “Dancing With the Stars”, actresses Nicollette Sheridan, Linda Gray, and Denise Richards, singer Carly Smithson of “American Idol”, Grant Reynolds of “Hollywood House Husbands”. Many athletes are offering their unique talents for the auction including private football coaching by Former NFL player and Super Bowl champion Chris Hayes, riding lessons from champion jumper Ashlee Bond and private dressage lesson from Olympian Leslie Morse. A limited number of advance purchase tickets are available to the public at $100 and include a delicious BBQ dinner, live auction, cocktails and the show.
All proceeds go to ACT Today!, an organization that provides grant money directly to families that cannot afford or access the autism treatments their children need. ACT Today! has given over $300,000 grants for treatment to families around the country in the last 2 years, primarily for underprivileged families with children suffering from moderate to severe autism.

ACT Today! is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to increase access to autism effective treatments. Their goal is to educate families and help facilitate effective treatment by providing the information, funding assistance and referrals to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and their families.
