June 23, 2009 - The Sound Room, St. Louis’ premier home audio and video integrator, announced its fourth year on the CE Pro Top 100 list, which ranks the country’s top custom integrators. The company jumped to No. 27 from No. 31 in 2008 during what the leading electronics trade publication classified as the industry’s largest across-the-board downturn since the Top 100 list’s inception 11 years ago. The Sound Room also remains the only Missouri-based company on the list.
CE Pro’s 2009 Top 100 list ranked custom audio and video integrators by total revenue generated in 2008. According to the list, The Sound Room experienced higher than average earnings. Its $7.2 million in revenue that year was 9 percent higher than the average earnings, or $6.59 million, of the top companies listed.
“Our revenues remain high despite the economy for a simple reason: We provide expert advice and service to clients for their home theater and home automation needs,” said David Young, company president. “Anybody can sell you a speaker, but our staff is certified by the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standard in residential custom electronic design and installation. We’ve been around for over 25 years, and that says a lot during a time when many electronics retailers are going out of business.”
Last year, The Sound Room received the highest honor among Crestron Electronic’s Integration Awards, the Ultimate Connected Home, which recognized the coordination and implementation of an integration project for a 17,000-square-foot home. The project incorporated entertainment, audio, video, lighting, climate, landscaping and security controls.
