September 11, 2009 - Website marketing coach Cathy Goodwin, Ph.D., announced a free teleseminar “The Secret of Marketing Virtually For a Face-to-Face Service,” to be held September 17, 2009, at 10 AM Pacific (1 PM Eastern). Participants can listen from anywhere in the world, live or via recording. To register: http://budurl.com/sep17
The course (delivered by telephone) explains an aspect of services marketing that seems puzzling or even contradictory. Professionals who deliver services “up close and personal” can attract clients from the Internet. Goodwin points to dentists, hair stylists, massage therapists and lawyers who successfully use the Internet to promote their services.
“And you can’t get much more personal than that,” Goodwin adds. “The truth is, clients will hire you from your website even if you’re referred by their best friend or they just shook hands with you at a networking breakfast.”
Goodwin says most professionals make three costly Internet marketing mistakes. First, they produce a “me-too” brochure website instead of developing content that inspires confidence and trust among prospective clients. Second, they don’t realize they can make attract revenue from visitors who live thousands of miles away. “They may never become clients but they may be very eager to buy an audio or white paper,” Goodwin says.
Finally, Goodwin says, most professionals spend way too much money on their websites, “especially on the wrong things. The truth is that some of those costly bells and whistles will actually lower your credibility and kill your ranking in the search engines.”
With a Ph.D. in marketing, Cathy Goodwin spent 20 years as a b-school professor. Based in Seattle, her website www.MakeWebsiteProfits.com offers a free electronic newsletter and downloadable Report: 7 Secrets of Websites That Really Attract Clients.
