(1888PressRelease) January 13, 2007 - Boca Raton, FL - January, 12 2007 - Popular teen music television program the Rock Star Stories, has released their viewers top ten new bands for 2006. Topping the list is The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus followed by Jack's Mannequin (Maverick Records), Cartel (Epic Records), The Plain White Ts on Hollywood Records, The Fray(Epic Records) Cute is what We Aim For (Fueled by Ramen/Atlantic Records), Saosin (Capitol Records), Dave Melillo (DriveThru Records) Hit the Lights (Triple Crown Records) and Cobra Starship(Fueled by Ramen) .These rankings were compiled from request statistics through The Rock Star Stories web site.

"Our goal, said show director Zac Rich, always has been to cover a wide array of music without limiting ourselves what is heard on top 40 radio." He added, "The varied nature of this list, which includes alternative, pop and rock recordings, provides further proof that music isn't made popular through commercial radio alone and that word of mouth in the youth community and MySpace are what fuels many band successes."

"The one thing all of the bands on the list have in common is that they are fan friendly and have put in the time to reach out and get to know their record buying demographic. For a new band with a first release, that is so important." stressed Rich, age twenty and a seven year veteran of the show.

The number one band on the list for 2006, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, released their debut album "Don't Fake it" in July 2006 while performing during the summer on the Warped Tour. Their first single from the album, "Face Down" deals with a young women's struggle against domestic violence. The album "Don't Fake It” was recently certified gold with sales of more than 500,000. Music from The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus ranges from the pop-punk, pop, screamo, and metal genres, and they combine them in a that’s both surprising and invigorating.
