July 14, 2008 - The Prayer Channel, the center for religious, educational and cultural programming in the New York City area and operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, has announced their broadcasting schedule of the largest youth event in the world, World Youth Day 2008 from Sydney Australia. Viewers from all over the world can view the coverage via WatchThePope.com, a live online video feed of the 24 hour cable network.
World Youth Day 2008 is a week-long series of events attended by the Pope and hundreds of thousands of young people from all over the globe. It has become the largest single mobilization of young people in the world. To bring the event closer to home, the Prayer Channel has teamed with Los Angeles based Cesario Migliozzi to promote the coverage on WatchThePope.com. "WatchThePope.com" street teams will be traveling throughout the city in WatchThePope.com-mobiles with promotional giveaways. A special kick-off night July 14th is planned in Coney Island at Keyspan Park, home to the Brooklyn Cyclones.
