Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease)
June 12, 2008 - WHERE: Independence Visitor Center, 6th & Market Streets, One North Independence Mall West, South Entrance, Across from the Liberty Bell
WHAT: The Normandy Bell Hologram will be installed in its permanent home at the south entrance of the Visitor Center. Advances in photography have created a three dimensional image of the Liberty Bell. Visitors are invited to the unveiling of this hologram, and to see a video that will show the story of the Normandy Liberty Bell and what it represents.
WHEN: Monday, April 21, 2008
WHY: The Normandy Liberty Bell is 3-D, and will reconnect Americans with their history in an unprecedented way. The hologram will stand as a symbol of continuing friendship between France and the United States. The bell is a token of gratitude from Frenchman, Patrick Daudon, who wished to honor the sacrifice American soldiers made to liberate his country during World War II.
“This is living history of a completely different sort. The Normandy Liberty Bell project has brought the bell and its sound back from the dead”, said William Moore, president and CEO of the Independence Visitor Center
