February 19, 2009 - On May 14 and 15, 2009, international aerospace manufacturing executives will meet at the Hotel Plaza San Carlos in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico at an Aerospace Manufacturing in Mexico conference that will be hosted by The Offshore Group.
In recent years Mexico has taken its place among developing economies as a favored destination for aerospace manufacturing investment, and today stands as the 9 leading supplier of aerospace manufactures to the United States. Total aerospace exports from Mexico to the United States increased from $146.2 million in 2004 to $683.2 million last year.
Attendees at the conference will have an opportunity to receive information provided by industry experts on timely topics such as:
• Mexico’s position in the global aerospace industry
• The Mexican government’s role in establishing a national aerospace industry
• Mexico and the OEM’s
• Getting to know the Mexican supplier base
• The Mexico - United States Bilateral Safety Agreement (BASA)

In addition to the informational speaking program, attendees will take part in tours of aerospace product manufacturing facilities currently in operation in the Guaymas, Sonora aerospace cluster, and will have the opportunity to take part in a personalized cost modeling session that will estimate costs related to any Mexico manufacturing projects that may be under consideration.
