August 06, 2010 - The Mind-Body Digestive Center, a holistic, multi-dimensional center devoted to patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other functional gastro-intestinal disorders, has launched a completely revised and re-designed web site. The site is user friendly and allows visitors to learn about IBS, to review MBDC activities and allows direct linking to the MBDC blog site where recent advances and MBDC perspectives are described.
The MBDC is located in Manhattan and is co-directed by a gastroenterologist, (Mt. Sinai faculty) and a clinical psychologist, (N.Y.U. faculty). The MBDC offers other services including a group hypnotherapy program specifically designed for gastro-intestinal symptoms, an acupuncturist and a nutritionist. Testing is available for lactose intolerance and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth.
In addition to treatment, the MBDC is also engaged in research and has published a number of important research papers. The co-directors have given many professional talks, both nationally and internationally.
