June 15, 2007 - AA rosette restaurant The Maynard in Grindleford is teaming up with the Meningitis Trust to help the charity raise much needed funds. The Maynard will hold a coffee morning on Thursday 28 June from 10.00am – 12.00pm. All proceeds will go to the Meningitis Trust.
As an added incentive, anyone staying on for lunch at The Maynard after the meningitis coffee morning will receive either a complimentary starter or dessert when purchasing a main course.

A Prize Draw is being run on the day, with proceeds also going to the Meningitis Trust. Entrants can buy tickets to win a three course dinner at The Maynard and a bottle of Champagne for 2 people, in the Maynard’s recently refurbished AA rosette restaurant. The Maynard is also planning a ball in aid of the Meningitis Trust later in the year; details will be announced soon.
The Meningitis Trust has great poignancy for Liz Downing, marketing manager at The Maynard. Liz lost her 12 year old nephew to meningitis only a few weeks ago, and is determined to do something for the charity.
“Until you are personally touched by it you are unable to comprehend the sudden and devastating effects of meningitis”, she said.
