The Lost Boys & Girls: Protecting Our Inner Children.
A seventh-generation Texan, Laura Ault is no Texas rose: she’s more Janis Joplin meets Dolly Parton, a Stevie Nicks impersonation of Debbie Harry. A true singer-songwriter, Laura is happiest when she’s collaborating – even her earliest memories are of singing Simon & Garfunkel in the car along with her mother, discussing the lyrical nuances of ‘Cecilia.’ With influences as diverse as Paul Simon, the Mamas and the Pappas and legendary stars of the Broadway stage, Laura Ault is a singer like no other – as much a romantic as she is a charismatic firecracker, her songs speak softly of love yet refuse to back down from the prospect of heartbreak. She may look like a beauty queen, but sweet and saccharine she’s not.
Laura’s discography includes collaborations with producers/songwriters Gary Huff & Jamie Lamm, and, most recently, with songwriter/musician Adonis Tsilimparis. Her latest tracks (‘Sunshine in My Mind,’ ‘Far Away’ ‘Like a Star,’ ‘I Couldn’t Be Any Better,’ ‘I Warned You’ and ‘Gamblin’ on my Man’) can be heard at www.myspace.com/lauraault. |
