WHAT: The Independence Visitor Center concierge will handout 400 red, white and pink carnations to all mothers in the Visitor Center on Mother’s Day.

WHY: In celebration of Mother’s Day, the Independence Visitor Center will honor mothers from all over with a free flower giveaway. The concierge members of Independence Visitor Center will present one of 400 pink, red and white carnations to each mother that enters the Visitor Center on Mother’s Day. Independence Visitor Center recognizes the importance of mother’s and families especially to tourism and the travel industry. Each year around 80% of the tourists welcomed at the Visitor Center are traveling families. Tourists stopping at the Visitor Center estimate that they will spend an average of $521.50 on sightseeing activities during their trip and almost 25% will spend an additional $254.00 per party based on the information they received at the Visitor Center. For all that mothers and their families are doing for the Independence Visitor Center and Philadelphia’s tourism industry; free flowers on Mother’s Day are a small token of appreciation.
