The identity theft resource center hosts identity theft twitter chat aimed towards small businesses

  • (1888PressRelease) June 05, 2013 - For over a decade, the ITRC has been a leader in actively engaging the public on the issue of identity theft and has welcomed the addition of social media platforms to continue this proud tradition. The Identity Theft Twitter Chat is one of the latest examples of how the ITRC has embraced the opportunity to reach a more general audience that has been presented with the growth of social media.

    CSID, a business-to-business identity protection technology provider, will be joining the ITRC in co-hosting the June chat. This month's event will address information security and digital reputation management in small businesses. Past topics have included the dangers of WiFi, child identity theft, social networking and more.

    "Social networking has become a wonderful tool for connecting the general public with helpful information," says Nikki Junker, Social Media Manager at the Identity Theft Resource Center. "It is our hope that these chats will engage a new audience in the issues of identity theft and fraud."

    The Identity Theft Twitter Chat will take place June 6, 2013 at 11:00am PST. Anyone can join the chat and provide resources to consumers and businesses by following ( @ ) ITRCSD on Twitter and using the hashtag #IDTheftChat dot
