February 15, 2008 - The Edcomm Group Banker’s Academy and LexisNexis have partnered to present a webinar about the new Red Flags mandated by the Fact Act. Dr. Linda Eagle, President of Edcomm Banker’s Academy, will be a featured speaker at the event, which is scheduled for March 2008.
As of November 1, 2008, financial institutions and other creditors must comply with the Red Flag regulations mandated by the FACT Act. The Red Flag regulations were set in place to prevent and detect banking fraud and identity theft. Institutions must develop and implement a training program that identifies and detects relevant Red Flags and responds appropriately. Furthermore, institutions must ensure that the program is updated periodically to reflect changes in risks to customers or to the safety and soundness of the financial institution or creditor.
Edcomm Banker’s Academy’s Focus on Compliance programs for banks, credit unions and Money Services Businesses (MSBs) were updated immediately upon publication of the rules to ensure that the programs are always up-to-date and accurate.
