March 04, 2008 - The ChinaCare Group, the only international healthcare consulting firm in mainland China, announced today the appointment of two new partners to the firm.
Travis Tu, MPH, MBA has been appointed to a position as Partner with the ChinaCare Group and Xiaofeng Jia, MD, MBA has been appointed as Associate Partner. Mr. David Wood, President and Senior Partner, in announcing the appointments which are effective immediately, indicated: “Dr. Jia and Mr. Tu are superbly well-qualified individuals who will play a major role in the ChinaCare Group’s active role in the development of the healthcare marketplace in China.
Travis Tu is an experienced healthcare consultant and administrator who has had extensive experience in hospital management, business development, process reengineering, strategic planning and financial and operational due diligence engagements both in the United States and China. Mr. Tu has held senior level positions with Kaiser Permanente (Manager of Business Development) and Health Net, Inc. (Strategic Planning Manager) in the United States and with Zhejiang Medical University First Affiliated Hospital Eye Institute (Deputy General Manager) and the New Century International Children’s Hospital (Business Development Officer) in China.
He has also held consulting positions with Andersen Consulting (Accenture) and The Innova Group. Mr. Tu holds both bachelor and master degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles. His graduate degree was from the School of Public Health, Health Service Management Program at UCLA and China Europe International Business School. He is fluent in Mandarin and English.
Dr. Xiaofeng Jia is a licensed physician and surgeon. He attended medical school at the Capital University of Medical Sciences and completed his surgical residency at Beijing Chao Yang Hospital. In addition, he finished his masters in international business administration from the School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua Unviersity) in June, 2007.
In addition to his medical experiences, Dr. Jia has served as a marketing specialist at New Century International Children's Hospital, the only international standard children's hospital in the People's Republic of China. He is fluent in English and a native speaker in Mandarin Chinese.
