October 01, 2007 - The ChinaCare Group, the only international healthcare consulting firm in mainland China, announced today that it has been retained by the People’s Liberation Army Hospital in Fuzhou, People’s Republic of China, to assist in the development of a highly advanced particle therapy center in Fuzhou. In this capacity, the firm will provide business development and advisory services intended to assist the project in the attraction of investors.
Particle therapy is a highly advanced modality for the treatment of cancer which attacks cancerous cells through ionization. Using either proton or ion therapy, particle therapy centers are able to provide far more effective treatment with less damage to neighboring tissue. Five-year survival rates of patients who have utilized this modality exceed 80%. The proposed Fuzhou center will be one of only a handful of centers in existence in the world today.
